Lola Longe Botanicals was created out of personal experience. Being a woman of color, I have always had to deal with the problems of dry skin, dry itchy scalp, skin sensitivity and irritation.

Growing up, the preferred skin care products were those containing fragrance, preservatives, coloring and additives . The belief was that if it didn’t smell nice or looked colorful, then it was probably not the best hair or skin care in the market.

Overtime, I realized that the so called preferred skin care products contributed immensely to the problems I had to deal with. With the help of her mother who holds a bachelor’s degree in botany, we have been able to appreciate the nurturing effects of God-given plants and herbs on the skin and are putting them to good use.

The various chemicals contained in the chemically manufactured soaps, skin moisturizers and scalp ointments are detrimental to the skin and most are carcinogenic.

Since research has paved way for a better understanding of dermal absorption, just like with food, our skin absorbs up to 64% of what we place on it.

Lola Longe Botanicals was created to combat the scalp and skin challenges we face from the use of other beauty care products which are filled with harmful chemicals.
